First LTTA in Scoala Gimnaziala "Grigore Moisil" in Ploiesti, Romania

In the period 03-07.10.2022, the first LTTA was held in Ploiesti, Romania.
The LTTA activities were attended by 2 teachers and 4 students from each partner school, the partnership implementation team and students of the host school.
The activities organized by the host followed the theme: Performing a universal song all together.

The activities began with visiting the host school, introducing the project implementation team, welcome show, presenting the Romanian education system and didactic methods of teaching music to primary and secondary school students, participating in the visit of study at Excelsis Secondary School, Ploiești.
The welcome show introduced the representative music of Romania -Ciocârlia, Ciuleandra, Romanian folk music and the traditional Romanian dance - hora. The workshop led by the project team highlighted the elements of Romanian education system and presented the general competences aimed at teaching music. The first stage of music teaching in the Romanian school,was presented in a music workshop in the preparatory class-using the body percussion, the audition and boomwhackers.
In partnership with Excelsis Ploiești Secondary School, the study visit was organized with the aim of familiarizing students with percussion instruments- tambourine, triangle, xylophone, stringed instruments - guitar, mandolin, violin, piano, wind instruments - trumpet and with the sounds that characterize each instrument. The students listened to the piano performance of the Ode to Joy, performed by the students of Excelsis Secondary School Ploiești in the piano workshop.

In partnership with Filarmonica Paul Constantinescu,the EduMusik workshop “Journey into the world of the symphony orchestra” was organized, aiming at familiarizing with the symphony orchestra instruments and awakening interest in classical music.

The Music Day, held in the school garden, helped to improve communication skills in English, cooperation and teamwork, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, with students and teachers forming mixed groups. The 7 teams completed the tasks in 7 workshops (reconstructing a puzzle, answering questions, performing calculations, listening to a song, matching the names, identifiing places on the map, writing messages in English/mother tongue).

The study visit in Bucharest-Students and teachers participated in the musical workshop Anotimpurile - Autumn and Winter (Antonio Vivaldi) organized by the Comic Opera for Children.
Visiting Cotroceni Palace contributed to the development of intercultural skills, to the communication skills, acquisition of knowledge about the Romanian musicians while visiting the Old Center familiarized the students with the specifics of Romanian street music.

The “Emotion and Percussion” workshop, organized in collaboration with the Philharmonic, contributed to the improvement of communication skills in English, increasing self-confidence and positive attitude. Using African drums and different rhythms, the students expressed emotions.
In the performance hall of the Philharmonic students performed in English Ode to joy - universal song, accompanied by the orchestra. The unison interpretation of the Ode to Joy increased self-confidence and positive attitude towards others.

The music therapy workshop “Rhythms of nature” organized in the school garden improved communication skills in English and the overall underestandin of the subject matter.

Participation in the Symphonic Concert performed highlighted the role of classical music in personal development.
The study visit to Prahova Valey and Bran Castle- Musical journey aimed at increasing the attractiveness of school activities for students at risk, developing reading, writing, math skills(Musical Journey brochure)and knowledge of Romanian tranditions, customs and music. Students visited the George Enescu Memorial House,listened to Romanian Rhapsod, identified music notes and learned about the violin.
The activities were popularized among students, teachers, parents and the local community by presenting pictures and video material published on the school website, the Facebook page of the school and the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic, the project webpage.
